Artistic Projects
I am very passionate about the theater. When it comes to directing I love to pick out the details of each story and engage the audience in something hasn't been done before. An audience member has come up to me and said "Thank you for telling this story, it has inspired me to continue acting." This quote has stuck with me and I love to see how the art of theater affects the audience.
Misery
Misery was the first show I have directed in the Blackbox theater at Heidelberg University. Misery was a stage adaptation by William Goldman based on the novel by Stephen King. I have always wanted to bring more horror to the theater and this show was perfect! I co-directed this show with Nick Talion. The story follows author Paul Sheldon who survived by a car accident by Annie Wilkes. Paul finds out Annie's true nature and must write to save his life.
The Woman In Black
The Woman in Black was my first independently directed show in The Blackbox theater at Heidelberg University. A stage adaptation by Stephen Mallatrat based on the book of the same name by Susan Hill. Being an independent director on this project was a great experience. Bringing a haunting ghost story to the theater made people jump and scream in terror. The story follows Arthur Kipps and an actor he has hired to tell his ghost story. By re-telling this story, Kipps has summoned the Woman In Black and she haunts the two as the story goes on.
